Frequently Asked Questions
Q: The hall is so big, it must be expensive to sign up for the show. I don't think I can afford it.
A: The Hawaii All-Collectors Show is a bargain. A 10ft by 10ft booth with table and chair starts at around $300. Many other trade shows in the same hall can cost up to 3 times as much.
Q: Why is this show held on Friday & Saturday?
A: The show is held on Friday & Saturday to take advantage of the thousands of people who work in the downtown area and many of whom park their cars in the Blaisdell Parking lot. These people may not find it convenient, especially with gas prices these days, to drive back to town on Saturday, especially if they live outside of Honolulu.
The Friday-Saturday format also allows vendors the most time to set up. We tried experimenting with a Saturday-Sunday format but found that the early starting time on Saturday meant that most of the set up would have to be done on Friday night; many vendors were not able to come on Friday night.
Q: Why is the show a 2 day show? A 3 day show has longer hours.
A: Production costs have risen and this is one way we can help to keep booth prices down. Although we switched to a 2-day format, our 2-day show is only a few hours shorter than the 3-day show in February.
Q: I see that we only get 3 hours to takedown after the show ends. That's not long enough.
A: The show ends at 6pm on Saturday. After about 60-90 minutes, depending on the amount of debris in the aisles, we will allow vendors to bring their vehicles into the hall to pack up.
Q: I see "Early Entry" starts at 1:30pm. What exactly is "Early Entry?"
A: "Early Entry" is where anyone who pays extra ($20) gets to enter the show earlier than the general public. In the case of our show, they get to come in 1-1/2 hour earlier at 1:30pm. "Early Entry" is quite popular on the mainland and elsewhere and has been around for many many years. However, in Hawaii, it's quite a new feature. The $20 price is a bargain. "Early Entry" prices as high as $200 are not unheard of on the mainland. Early Entry customers consist mainly of antique/collectible dealers and/or serious collectors who want to get first choice at "the good stuff," whatever that is. However, the general public is welcomed as long as they're willing to pay the $20 entry fee.
